How to get San Vito Lo Capo

This is the right page if you’re planning your trip and want to find out how to get to San Vito Lo Capo, or if you’ve already booked one of our apartments and are organizing your travel arrangements.

If you’re traveling with children, here you’ll find helpful tips to move around comfortably and in the safest way for everyone.

San Vito Lo Capo is a popular and well-known destination, but it’s not a place you simply pass through: it lies on the coast of Western Sicily and is reached via a single road. This makes the area even more magical, and it certainly won’t stop you from exploring the wonderful surroundings!

Although San Vito Lo Capo is located in the province of Trapani, Palermo Airport is also a convenient point of arrival — but let’s make things clearer.

Arriving by plane

The closest airport, at about 60 km away, is Trapani–Marsala (Vincenzo Florio Airport). Palermo Airport (Falcone–Borsellino) is also convenient, although roughly 90 km distant. Palermo Airport is an international hub with a wide range of flight connections.

Once you arrive at the airport, you can choose among several ways to reach San Vito Lo Capo:

Rent a car. There are many rental companies available — well-known brands as well as local ones. We recommend checking them all on the airport website so you can compare offers. Remember the legal requirements for traveling safely with children: request car seats in advance and avoid taking risks on the road!
We also remind you that we offer two types of parking: one free, and one shaded, which can be reserved before arrival.

Private transfer services. We work with qualified agencies and drivers. This is a great option because it allows you to book in advance and ensures that someone will be waiting for you at any time, even if your flight is delayed.
The private transfer service can also be useful during your stay — for a day trip or to reach nearby destinations — so you can travel worry-free!

Uber, a widely known service worldwide, bookable directly on site through the app.

Autobus. Some transport companies reach San Vito Lo Capo directly, while most of them stop in Trapani or Palermo — from there, you will need another means of transport to get to our apart-hotel. If you’re traveling with children, plan everything well in advance and download bus schedules from the official websites of the different companies.

Arriving by car

If you are traveling by car from the two airports, or from any other destination, here are the routes:

  • From Palermo: Follow the A29 motorway towards Trapani, take the exit for Castellammare del Golfo, and continue along the SP16 up to San Vito Lo Capo.
  • From Trapani: Take the SP18 and follow the signs.

Once you arrive at the Poseidon Residence, which is located on the street immediately adjacent to the historic center, you can park your car worry-free. However, remember to book your parking space before arrival and discover the available solutions.

Arriving by car, especially if you are traveling with children, will allow you to break the routine and go exploring the surrounding areas. Children will surely enjoy the historic center of Erice, taking a dip into history at the Segesta archaeological park, and admiring the pink flamingos at the Trapani salt pans. We look forward to suggesting the most beautiful itineraries to you!

Travelling by bus

There are direct bus routes available from Trapani and Palermo. We recommend checking the timetables in advance, especially during high season.

The bus stop is just a short walk from our hotel, but if you have any doubts, contact us beforehand: we will be happy to help you!

Arriving by ship

The most useful ports for reaching San Vito Lo Capo are Palermo, Termini Imerese, and Trapani. We also have an agreement, “Amici Siculi” (Sicilian Friends), with the shipping company Grimaldi Lines for those arriving from the main Italian ports:

The discount code is provided at the time of booking.

The agreement is not applicable on routes designated for territorial continuity.
